Robin Hood is going to turn a new page with an upcoming series that is set to broadcast this coming November. Lionsgate Television produces an MGM+ series that gives a new perspective on the age-old story of a legendary outlaw known for stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. A thrilling storyline and a major star cast, the top Robin Hood version brings in layers of new love and rebellion as well as betrayal.

This new trailer for Robin Hood depicts what appears to be an uplifting and invigorating version of the age-old tale with the previous adaptations this series blends action, romance and drama with a deeper exploration of the personal conflicts that drive the characters.
The central theme of Robin Hood’s rebellion against the oppressive rich remains intact, the series delves into the relationship between Robin and Marian illuminating the emotional stakes of their love amid political unrest. The first look images also dropped by MGM+ indicate that this new version will focus on both the daring exploits of Robin and his internal battles and making for a nuanced portrayal of his quest for justice.

Robin Hood: Plot
The series opens in England during the twelfth century under Norman rule and introduces us to Robert of Locksley, a young Saxon nobleman whose life is turned upside down when his father is executed by the merciless Sheriff of Nottingham. As punishment, Robert’s family is stripped of their estate, thus catapulting him into the life of rebellion.
He is a master archer who directs all his anguish and rage into becoming a figure of defiance wit the emotional layers of the narrative are complicated by the growing rebellion and Robert’s feelings towards Marian, a noblewoman caught between family obligation and love for Robin. The trailer gives a hint that love and allegiance will test Marian’s loyalty an increased pull stemming from her connection to the dark machinations of the Sheriff.
Cast & Characters of Robin Hood
The series also has a stellar cast comprising Jack Patten as the titular character, Robert of Locksley (Robin Hood), along with Lauren McQueen as Marian, whose importance lies not only in the romance but also in the political drama playing out.
The Legendary Sean Bean plays the iconic antagonist, the Sheriff of Nottingham, known for villainous deeds and Lydia Peckham plays Priscilla, a character with secrets of her own and Steven Waddington as the Earl of Huntingdon, a powerful figure in the court. Connie Nielsen will also be part of the cast as Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine and adding a regal authority to this drama.
When is Robin Hood Releasing?
The Robin Hood series begins premiering on Prime Video on Sunday, November 2, 2025, with the first two episodes will drop at the same time at 9:00 PM ET in the United States, then will be released weekly.
The series will have its full run until the season finale on December 28, 2025, fans across the globe can tune in to the show as it will be available in several countries including the UK, Italy, Germany, Spain, Latin America and many others, as it will be accessed by an active MGM+ subscription.
