Popular South Korean actor Park Si-hoo is finally making his return to the big screen after a break of nearly ten years.
The 49-year-old actor, widely known for hit TV dramas like The Princess’ Man and My Golden Life, appeared at a press event on December 8 for his new film, Choir of God, marking his first film-related public appearance in over 15 years.
Park described Choir of God as a truly meaningful project, given the lengthy period he has been away from cinema.
The movie, which is set to be released on December 31, 2025, is a unique music drama set in North Korea, where Park plays Gyo Soon, a serious North Korean security officer tasked with creating a fake choir to earn foreign currency.
Actor Confronts Influencer Allegations
The press conference for his comeback film also served as a crucial moment for Park to directly address recent, serious allegations linked to an online influencer.
The influencer had claimed on social media that the actor introduced women to her husband, contributing to the breakdown of her marriage.
Park publicly denied the allegations, stating he had “mixed feelings” about bringing up personal matters at his first film event in 15 years but felt he needed to clarify the situation for the sake of the project.
He insisted the claims were baseless fabrications and confirmed that his legal team has filed a defamation lawsuit against the accuser. Park stated that he would leave the matter to the police investigation and the judgment of the courts.
