What is Laboon’s Story?

Laboon is a whale who has waited at Reverse Mountain for more than 50 years. The whale was abandoned by a pirate crew named the Rumbar Pirates, who vowed to come back after their voyage through the Grand Line. Laboon’s head scars are a result of pounding the Red Line repeatedly out of frustration and sadness. This story is one of the saddest in One Piece, depicting loyalty, camaraderie, and hope.

Story of One Piece: Into The Grand Line

Season 2 starts with the Straw Hat Pirates entering the Grand Line via Reverse Mountain, where they meet Laboon and hear his heartbreaking story. After this heart-wrenching meeting, the Straw Hats will move on from island to island and have a new set of challenges in the perilous Grand Line.
