Megastar Chiranjeevi unveils Vishwambhara teaser and confirms Summer 2026 worldwide release
Chiranjeevi, the megastar, is ready to make a massive comeback in his highly expected film, Vishwambhara. Recently, the actor offered two big updates, confirming the worldwide release for Summer 2026 and that the first official teaser would be released today at 6:06 PM.
Directed by Mallidi Vassishta and produced by UV Creations, this fantasy action drama is quickly rising to be one of the most awaited Telugu films for the coming year. The star-studded cast includes Trisha Krishnan, Kunal Kapoor and Ashika Ranganath, raising the excitement levels for the audience.
The film, originally named Mega 156, was officially launched and announced on August 22, 2023, the birthday of Chiranjeevi. The grand launch, carried out with traditional muhurat pooja in Hyderabad, had the who-is-who of the industry in attendance, including cast and crew. With this film, Chiranjeevi adds yet another feather to his illustrious career, marking his 156th film in the trade.

For months prior to today, speculation was rife that Vishwambhara might just be yet another sequel to Chiranjeevi's cult classic Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari (1990). However, Vyjayanthi Movies, who own the rights to the original, issued a proclamation denying any possibility of a sequel. Later, director Vassishta confirmed that Vishwambhara is not related to that fantasy classic and is a completely new story.
The makers promise a visual spectacle combining action and fantasy with cutting edge VFX. Initially, parts of the visual effects did not meet expectations, prompting a large-scale revamp. Those challenges have been overcome, and the film has now resumed extensive activity in preparation for the grand showcase.

Adding to its scale M. M. Keeravani's music, which is expected to elevate the emotional and fantasy elements of the narrative. Actress Mouni Roy has also filmed a special number with Chiranjeevi, further elevating the buzz.
Director Mallidi Vassishta, who previously charmed the audiences with Bimbisara, now comes aboard to an even bigger canvas. With Chiranjeevi doing the honors, Vishwambhara is posited to be a magnum opus in Telugu cinema. Teaser launch is set to present the first look into this much-hyped fantasy adventure for the audiences and set up one among the biggest releases in 2026.
