For the second time in under a month, comedian Kapil Sharma’s café in Canada has been attacked in a fresh shooting incident. Unknown assailants opened fire at Kap’s Café in Surrey on Thursday morning, marking a serious escalation in threats against the Indian entertainer. This new attack comes just weeks after the café faced a similar assault in early July, shortly after its grand opening.
Second Attack in One Month
According to local reports, the attackers fired several rounds at the café located on 85 Avenue and Scott Road. Witnesses reported at least six bullet holes and shattered windows after the incident. The Surrey Police arrived promptly and are now conducting a full investigation. However, they have yet to share concrete leads.

A local resident, Bob Singh, told 1130 NewsRadio, “I saw it from my patio. I heard five or six shots, and then the cops came.”
Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Claims Responsibility
Soon after the firing, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang issued another threat to Kapil Sharma. A post on social media, allegedly from Goldie Dhillon, claimed the gang took responsibility for the shooting. The post warned, “We called him, but he did not hear the ring, so action had to be taken there—now, if he does not hear the ring, then the next action will be taken in Mumbai.”

The Mumbai Police have been notified and are verifying the authenticity of the social media post.
First Incident Linked to BKI Operative
The first attack on the café took place in early July. Harjit Singh Laddi, an operative of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and one of India’s most wanted terrorists, had then claimed responsibility. Laddi said the attack was a reaction to alleged offensive remarks made by Kapil Sharma against Nihang Sikhs on his television show.
Police Continue Probe and CCTV Analysis
The police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the café to identify those behind the second attack. As tensions rise, both Surrey and Mumbai police remain on alert with two serious firing incidents in less than 30 days.
