The internet is buzzing again with the name of former NCB officer Sameer Wankhede. This comes after the release of Aryan Khan’s debut web series The Bads of Bollywood. Many viewers say a character in the show looks a lot like Wankhede.
The character appears in the first episode itself. A tough officer steps out of a jeep and starts a heated speech about the “war against drugs.” He blames the film industry for being filled with drug issues. His uniform is simple – a white shirt and dark trousers. He has short hair, a lean build, and a strict tone. Social media users quickly pointed out that this description is strikingly similar to Sameer Wankhede.
What Sameer Wankhede Said About the Khans
This is not the first time Wankhede’s name has been linked with Shah Rukh Khan and his family. Last year, during an interview with The Gaurav Thakur Show, he was asked about Aryan Khan’s arrest and a dialogue from Shah Rukh Khan’s 2023 hit Jawan.

The dialogue was, “Bete ko haath lagane se pehle baap se baat kar (Before touching my son, talk to the father).” Many fans saw this as a dig at Wankhede.
Responding to the question, Wankhede said, “Dekhiye mein kisi ka naam leke kisi ko famous nahi karna chahta hoon. Jo chats leak vagairah hein woh honourable High Court ke saame hain toh uspe koi tippani nahi dena chahunga main (I don’t want to take names and make anyone famous. Whatever the chat leaks happened, the case is with the High Court, so I cannot comment on that).”
Aryan Khan’s Arrest in 2021
In 2021, Sameer Wankhede made headlines after his NCB team arrested Aryan Khan during a cruise party in Mumbai. Khan was accused of drug possession. He spent 25 days in prison before being granted bail on October 28, 2021.
Later, Aryan Khan received a clean chit in the case. But the incident stayed in the spotlight due to Shah Rukh Khan’s immense popularity and the debate around Bollywood’s image.
Past Indirect References
The link between Shah Rukh Khan’s films and Wankhede did not stop with the arrest. In Jawan (2023), the father-son dialogue was again seen as an indirect hint at him.
When asked again in an interview, Wankhede repeated his stance. He said, “Dekhiye mein kisi ka naam leke kisi ko famous nahi karna chahta hoon… case is with the High Court, so I cannot comment.”

Now, with Aryan Khan’s first series, The Bads of Bollywood, the former NCB officer’s name has resurfaced. Online discussions continue about whether the show’s character was inspired by him.
