‘Her struggles came from wrong choices…’: Saurabh Sachdeva on Triptii Dimri

After mixed reviews in 2024, Triptii Dimri shines in Dhadak 2. Mentor Saurabh Sachdeva shares insights on her growth, choices, and acting journey.

The initial stages of Triptii Dimri’s career comprised calls like Mom and Poster Boys; however, the real kick started from her intense performances in Laila Majnu, Bulbbul and Qala.

These projects bracketed her as a potential performer with range and depth. Then in 2023, she stepped into the commercial limelight with Animal and made her way into the mainstream crowd.

Mixed Bag and Tough Learnings

Though Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 turned out to be a box-office hit, and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video fared decently, it seems both film critics and audiences felt none of these films fully utilized Triptii’s acting talent.

Even as her popularity exploded, there was hardly anything in terms of her talent utilization-“an issue that Saurabh Sachdeva, her long-time mentor and co-star, credited to the script rather than a capability gap.”

Mentor’s perspective

The worth of more than twenty years of imparting acting lessons to Saurabh was that he considered the highest achievement in life when all his students did well in life. Sad when it comes to Tripti’s journey; one setback makes no actor less skillful.

He states, Even the best has an off day; it has become the performance dips part of a cricket analogy. Triptii’s dedication, sensitivity, and professional approach never fluctuated even in tough times.

Dhadak 2 and a Confident Comeback

In 2025, Triptii made a very strong comeback with Dhadak 2, for which she eventually won critical acclaim for her nuanced performance.

Sharing space with both Siddhant Chaturvedi and Saurabh himself, the film certainly reminded audiences about her innate screen presence and emotional range. For Saurabh, her resurgence reinforces the belief that temporary more missteps.

Multifaceted Pressures of Role Selection

Saurabh also threw some light on the much unknown pressures exerted on an actor, from financial to the PR demands of the film. They do, however, affect the choice of films.

Age is an explicit influence, but he mentions that mastering the negotiation process forms a part of becoming an actor. Triptii, he adds, carrying past balance will result in the awe that her career tracks-the mix between ambition and artistic integrity.

A Glimpse into the Future

Currently, with Dhadak 2 running in theatres and a rejuvenated sense of self in her craft, Triptii Dimri is ready to turn over a new leaf in her life. Her would-have-been quintessential story would bring embodying unshakable resilience and adaptability, while gallantly making courageous inventive decisions-much which will, no doubt, keep her in the cinematic limelight for many years to come.
