Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 10 (ANI): Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt, known for movies like ‘Raaz’, ‘1920’, and ‘Haunted -3D’, has opened up about his equation with longtime collaborator, mentor, and fellow director Mahesh Bhatt.

Denying reports of having a rift with Mahesh Bhatt, the ‘Raaz’ director shared that he received a congratulatory message from Bhatt.

In a conversation with ANI, Vikram Bhatt dismissed the speculation of a fallout with Mahesh Bhatt after Vikram was recently booked by the Rajasthan police in an alleged fraud case involving large-scale misappropriation of funds.

While questions have been raised about Mahesh Bhatt’s public silence during the controversy, Vikram maintained that there is no issue between them.

“There are no issues at all. It was only yesterday that he sent me a message to congratulate me. I believe that he didn’t give a statement and remained silent as he did not want to exaggerate or provoke the matter. If he had said something, people would get angrier, and it would cause me more pain,” he said.

Noting that Mahesh Bhatt has always spoken in his favour, Vikram Bhatt continued, “Even if I am a thief, he would call me his son. As far as Mahesh Bhatt is concerned, there is a reason behind his silence and no distance. He understood that the time was not right for being aggressive.”

Earlier this month, both Vikram Bhatt and Shwetambari Bhatt were booked in a case, which stemmed from an FIR lodged in Udaipur in November 2025 over an alleged fraud linked to a film project. The case was registered at the Bhupalpura police station. Later, the Supreme Court granted regular bail to the filmmaker and his wife, Shwetambari Bhatt. (ANI)
