In the most recent Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai episode on August 13, sparks flew in the Poddar household as Abhira (Samridhii Shukla) faced off against Geetanjali over young Maira. Abhira accused Geetanjali of secretly giving Maira a phone and manipulating her against her family.
Geetanjali, however, had turned the tables, claiming that Abhira should be grateful and not angry. She stated that Maira had agreed to stay at the Goenka house only after Geetanjali talked to her.
Armaan Weighs In and Sets Some Boundaries
Armaan (Rohit Purohit) intervened in their ugly spat. Seemingly furious that Geetanjali was brainwashing Maira, he publicly charged her with just that and categorically placed a ban on everyone in the house from taking part in the upcoming dance competition.

Abhira retaliated, reminding Armaan how important dancing was to Maira. She insisted that the child’s happiness should come before petty grudges, thus convincing him to allow the event.
Separate Groups, One Aim
As things got underway, both Abhira and Geetanjali decided to practice separately, which was beginning to turn the entire affair into the personal rivalry.

While Geetanjali was practicing, Dadu expressed his concern about her competing against Abhira’s mother. But Geetanjali emotionally advised him that his support meant the world to win Maira’s heart, and she finally secured his reluctant approval.
Abhira Rocks the Night-Making Late Rehearsals
Meanwhile, Abhira was doing vigorous late-night rehearsals. The next morning, Maira caught her rehearsing and asked why she was working so hard. Abhira softly told her that she was looking forward to doing it with her, which would be worth it.
During the chat, Maira spotted her phone in Abhira’s hand and confessed, “Geetu” gave it to me. Abhira then utilized that opportunity to question why children should ever keep secrets from their parents. Maira listened quietly and nodded, indicating that she understood where the information was going.
On event day, everyone had their preparations going for their battle against each other. Vidya was giving Abhira a spoon of curd and sugar for luck, and Maira ensured Geetanjali had the same blessing. Innocently yet pointedly, Maira announced her belief that Geetu was going to win.
However, Armaan covertly declared his loyalty to Abhira by stealthily handing over their good luck “tortoise” to her and whispering words of encouragement, thereby revealing the state of his heart in this family rift.
