New York [US], July 20 (ANI): American singer and rapper Post Malone headlined a star-studded closing ceremony at the FIFA World Cup final, delivering a high-energy performance at the New York/New Jersey Stadium that set the stage for football’s biggest spectacle.

The show began with an electrifying performance by a massive ensemble of drummers, whose thunderous rhythms echoed across the stadium and instantly captivated the packed crowd.

Their high-octane act paved the way for one of the evening’s most anticipated performers, internet sensation and streamer IShowSpeed, who took centre stage to perform his song ‘Champions’. The energetic performance, coupled with synchronised choreography, had fans on their feet as the stadium transformed into a sea of lights.

He also bopped to the beats of ‘This is the World Cup’, taking the energy to the next level.

The excitement only intensified when Grammy-nominated rapper Post Malone made his grand entrance. Delivering his much-anticipated ‘Chrome Heartbreaker’, the global superstar elevated the atmosphere with a powerful performance that fused his signature sound with the grandeur of the World Cup finale. For the event, Malone chose a double denim (jacket and jeans), paired with a cream cowboy hat and sunglasses.

The musical celebration reached another high point when Post Malone was joined by singer Swae Lee for a crowd-pleasing rendition of their chart-topping hit ‘Sunflower’ from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The duo’s chemistry and the song’s infectious melody prompted thousands of fans to sing along, creating one of the most memorable moments before kickoff.

Blending world-class entertainment with football’s grandest stage, the FIFA World Cup final opening ceremony delivered a fitting prelude to the ultimate showdown.

The World Cup final between Spain and Argentina will be played at the New York New Jersey Stadium on Sunday (local time).

Spain is eyeing for their second FIFA World Cup crown since winning the high-stakes tournament in 2010, while Lionel Messi’s Argentina seek back-to-back titles. (ANI)
