Dhurandhar Shoot in Leh Disrupted: 120 Crew Members Hospitalized Amid Food Scare

Stranged voices in Leh, Ladakh report that the shooting of the next Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh’s film is Dhurandhar is releasing on 5 December 2025, which recently caused an unexpected interruption from a significant health incident occurring among the crew. 

On Sunday, August 17, more than 120 of the film team members had to be rushed to SNM Hospital with ailments such as dehydration, vomiting, an abdominal bellyache and headaches.

Emergency Response and Current Condition

According to hospital officials, all such crew members received immediate medical aid. The medical superintendent confirmed to ANI that there were no casualties. Most patients have now been discharged, but there remain five under observation as precautions. In regard to the heavy influx of patients and proper treatment, the district authorities were very much highlighted in the discussion.

“Some came with a clear case of dehydration, some suffering acute gastroenteritis, and other symptoms. Thanks to coordination with the local administration, the situation was effectively handled and stabilized for all patients,” a medical official said. 

Causative Agents Under Investigation

The preliminary news report indicates that the illness could be related to food served on the film set since several crew members reported diarrhea and vomiting. Food samples have been sent for laboratory tests and the final results are awaited. Police registered a case and are researching the actual source of contamination.

A police officer said: “Around 600 people had meals on the day of the incident, but roughly 120 had symptoms. We have collected food samples for detailed analysis to identify the cause of the poisoning.” 

Production and Cast Information

Ranveer Singh plays the titular role in ‘Dhurandhar’, a film directed by Aditya Dhar associated with Uri; it also stars an all-star cast that includes Sanjay Dutt, Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi. While shooting on location in Leh, breathtaking scenery that adds an extra visual appeal to the movie has been captured over several weeks. 

This incident has sparked renewed debate over food safety standards at large-scale film shoots, especially in distant and sensitive areas such as Ladakh. Authorities await the lab reports before attributing blame or taking corrective measures. 

Though now mostly under control, production has been stalled temporarily, and the filmmakers have yet to make any official announcements about the situation.
