San Diego Comic-Con is in full force, and among the most eagerly awaited announcements out of Hall H was the unveiling of the next movie, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle. Fandoms were excited to discover that North American tickets for the movie will be on sale this Friday, August 15, before its official release on September 12.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Breaks Records in Japan

The movie has already made history in Japan. Last weekend, Infinity Castle opened with the largest single-day, first-day, and opening day box office income in the history of Japanese cinema. The movie reportedly earned a whopping 7.31 billion yen (nearly USD 49.55 million) during its opening four days, once again testing the popularity of the franchise. After days of release, Infinity Castle continues to make headlines as it spreads across the globe.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle begins in the last arc of the popular anime show. With the main villain, Muzan Kibutsuji, surprising the Ubuyashiki Mansion with an attack, the Demon Slayer Corps is put into disarray. Tanjiro Kamado, his sister Nezuko, and close friends Zenitsu and Inosuke retaliate against the threat and are lured into the demons’ den—the ominous Infinity Castle—for a full-on fight. The movie should include intense action combat featuring the top Hashira, including fan favourites Muichiro Tokito and Mitsuri Kanroji.

Infinity Castle North American Release Set for September 12

The film’s international release has been highly anticipated, especially following the global success of the franchise’s first movie, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train. That film became a cultural phenomenon, grossing over $507 million worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing film of 2020, despite the global pandemic.

With stunning animation, heartwarming storytelling, and action that will not be forgotten, Infinity Castle is on track to provide the franchise’s most intense instalment to date. North American viewers are waiting with bated breath for their opportunity to see the ultimate showdown on screen—and on the strength of early success, it could be yet another box office record-breaker waiting to happen.
