New York City hosted the grand Madison Avenue India Day Parade on August 17, 2025, where Cricmax Connect showcased youth cricket as part of the celebrations. The event featured live cricket demos, team showcases, and storytelling sessions that highlighted the journeys of young athletes. The goal was to blend the spirit of sport with community pride.
Cricmax Connect at the Parade
As Float No. 10, Cricmax Connect brought together young players, ambassadors, and special guests. The float kept audiences engaged with energetic performances and interactive activities along the route. After the parade, cricket activities continued on Park Avenue, giving families and children the chance to play and enjoy the sport in a festive atmosphere.
Gala Dinner with Stars and Leaders
The celebrations ended with a Gala Dinner at Cipriani, attended by U.S. national cricket players Smit Patel and Saiteja Mukkamalla, community leaders, and dignitaries. Notable guests included New York City Mayor Eric Adams and Indian film stars Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda.
Speaking at the event, Vinay Bhimjiani, Founder and CEO of Cricmax Connect, said: “Being part of an event like this is about more than just the sport. It’s about connection, representation, and giving the next generation a place on a stage that celebrates who they are and where they come from.”
FIA’s Vision for the Future
The Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) emphasized that this year’s focus on youth cricket reflected both tradition and future promise. Ankur Vaidya, FIA Chairman, said: “The India Day Parade is a platform for honouring our traditions while showcasing the energy and promise of the future. Having young cricketers and renowned figures like Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda together brought a new vibrancy to the celebrations.”
Week-Long Celebrations in NYC
The August 17 parade was the finale of Cricmax Connect’s Independence Week celebrations in New York City. Earlier events included flag hoistings at the Consulate General and Times Square, along with the ceremonial lighting of the Empire State Building, marking India’s Independence with pride and visibility in the U.S.
