Cast of Kantara: Chapter 1

Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 will hit theatres on October 2, 2025. This Kannada film acts as a prequel to the 2022 hit Kantara. It takes place in the time of the Kadamba dynasty and looks at the early story of Berme.

Directed and written by Rishab Shetty for Hombale Films, the film has big scenes. One war part used over 500 fighters and close to 3,000 actors. They shot it on a 25-acre site in Karnataka’s hills, and it took about 50 days. Filming wrapped up in July 2025. The movie’s music is produced by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, just like in the first film. Its first song, “Brahmakalasha,” came out on Saturday, September 27th.

Rishab Shetty as Berme

Rishab Shetty plays the main role of Berme. He brings back his strong acting from the 2022 Kantara and adds more to the god’s old story. Shetty also leads the film as director.

Rukmini Vasanth as Princess Kanakavathi

Rukmini Vasanth is Princess Kanakavathi, a strong woman linked to the king’s world and the forest people. She is known from Kannada movies like Sapta Sagaradaache Ello – Side A and Side B in 2023.

Gulshan Devaiah as Kulashekara

Gulshan Devaiah takes the part of Kulashekara, a tough leader from the royal family. He has worked in Hindi films such as Ulajh (2024) and Hate Story (2012).

Jayaram as King Vijayendra

Jayaram is King Vijayendra, a big ruler in the Kadamba period. This experienced actor from Malayalam cinema, seen in films like Soodhu Kavvum (2013) is another strong addition to the cast.

The supporting cast of Kantara: Chapter 1 includes Achyuth Kumar, Manasi Sudhir, Shine Shetty, Pramod Shetty, Rakesh Poojari, Prakash Thuminad, Deepak Rai Panaje, Hariprashanth M G, Shaneel Gautham, and Naveen Bondel. Plus, almost 3,000 more people join for the large crowd scenes.
