Bigg Boss 19 contestant Ashnoor Kaur has received massive support from fans and celebrities after facing body-shaming comments inside the house. Her co-housemates Kunickaa Sadanand, Tanya Mittal, and Neelam Giri were seen making fun of Ashnoor’s body, leading to outrage on social media. Adding to the criticism, former Bigg Boss contestant Awez Darbar slammed the behaviour and called it “absolutely disgusting.”

Awez Darbar Calls Out ‘Disgusting’ Behaviour

Awez Darbar took to his Instagram Stories to support Ashnoor. He reposted a video shared by Ashnoor Kaur’s team on her official page, which captured the sequence of events.

In the clip, Ashnoor was seen apologising for breaking a house rule while fellow contestant Farrhana Bhatt yelled at her. The video then showed Tanya Mittal, Kunickaa Sadanand, and Neelam Giri passing comments about Ashnoor’s weight. Contestants Amaal Mallik and Shehbaz Badesha were also seen discussing her body type.

In the live feed, Tanya remarked that despite Ashnoor’s regular gym sessions, she appeared to have gained weight. Neelam added that her workouts didn’t seem to help, expressing surprise at her appearance.

During a recent episode, Neelam mocked Ashnoor by asking, “Jurassic Park dekhoge? (Will you see Jurassic Park?)” while pointing toward her as she stood with Pranit More. Kunickaa laughed in response.

Awez condemned their behaviour, writing, “Disgusting remarks like always!!! But I know @ashnoorkaur is strong; she will handle it with grace.”

Celebrities Support Ashnoor Kaur

Several stars came forward to support Ashnoor. Actress Jannat Zubair shared on Instagram: “A person’s body is not public property for jokes and opinions. It’s 2025. We should’ve evolved past body shaming by now. She’s on that stage because she’s talented, confident and unstoppable, not because she fits someone’s idea of a ‘perfect body’. Proud of you @ashnoorkaur for holding your head high and being you!”

Ashnoor’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai co-star Rohan Mehra also criticised the contestants: “Body shaming is unacceptable. What happened to @ashnoorkaur today was wrong and needs to be called out. Respect and kindness should be the bare minimum. Shame on you @iam_kunickaasadanand, @neelamgiri_, and @tanyamittalofficial.”

Bigg Boss 19 House Heats Up

The current season features popular names such as Gaurav Khanna, Kunickaa Sadanand, Ashnoor Kaur, Amaal Mallik, Tanya Mittal, Malti Chahar, Mridul Tiwari, Farrhana Bhatt, Pranit More, and Shehbaz Badesha.

Everyone except Mridul Tiwari, Ashnoor Kaur, and Abhishek Bajaj is nominated for eviction this week. Tensions are rising inside the house, with Kunickaa refusing to perform her duties as a form of protest. The show streams on JioCinema and airs on Colours TV every night.

Body-Positivity Movement Gains Strength

Ashnoor’s calm reaction and the wave of celebrity support have reignited conversations about body positivity and respect inside Bigg Boss 19. Fans are calling for stricter action against contestants who indulge in personal or appearance-based attacks, saying the platform should promote inclusivity and dignity.

Awez Darbar’s stance has also sparked a broader social-media trend where fans are posting under the hashtag #StandWithAshnoor, urging Bigg Boss to take accountability for repeated instances of bullying on national television.
