The final episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix ended on a high note. Akshay Kumar appeared as the guest and filled the stage with laughter. Known for his humor, Akshay joked with Kapil Sharma and Archana Puran Singh throughout the show.
Their banter included topics like Kapil’s busy schedule, Archana’s paycheck, and even the comedian’s newly opened café in Canada. The episode brought the perfect mix of comedy, personal digs, and friendly laughter.
Archana Puran Singh on Her Paycheck
During the show, Akshay recalled Kapil’s early days when he performed nearly 80 shows in one season. He teased Archana Puran Singh by saying that the limited number of episodes on Netflix—only 10 this season—may have reduced her fee.
Archana laughed and clarified the truth. She said, “The platform has been generous when it comes to compensation.” She made it clear that her paycheck had not been cut after the shift from television to Netflix.
Kapil also joined in the fun. He joked that Archana’s expenses are always low since, according to him, she has more domestic staff than family members at home.
Netflix vs Television: A New Format
Kapil Sharma’s earlier shows on television ran for longer seasons with dozens of episodes. On Netflix, the show shifted to a shorter format with just 10 episodes. However, the production scale and reach have gone global.
Archana’s comments confirmed that moving to Netflix has not reduced earnings for the cast. Instead, the limited-episode format has increased quality and visibility.
Akshay Kumar on Kapil’s Busy Life
Akshay also teased Kapil about his packed life. He said that in just one and a half years, Kapil managed to shoot multiple seasons of the show while also becoming a father twice.
Navjot Singh Sidhu, who joined the conversation, joked that such a record deserved recognition in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Akshay Kumar’s Dig at Kapil Sharma’s Café Incident
The actor also touched on a sensitive issue—Kapil Sharma’s café in Surrey, Canada, which faced two firing incidents in July 2025. Akshay joked that Kapil’s ventures are so popular that even his café witnessed “gunfire.”
Kapil did not respond much and just smiled. His café, opened with wife Ginni Chatrath, became popular within days of launch. But it also faced back-to-back firing attacks. Nearly 25 rounds were fired in the incidents.
The café management later issued a statement. They called the incidents “heartbreaking” but assured fans that the café would continue operations. They also thanked the Surrey and Delta police departments and the community for their strong support.
