The Alien universe is back on screens, this time with a TV twist. Alien: Earth X, a sci-fi horror prequel to Ridley Scott’s 1979 classic, has dropped its first two episodes and is already making waves online. Created by Noah Hawley, the series takes viewers to the year 2120, two years before the original movie’s events.
The Set on Earth narration follows a new group of humans, soldiers, and hybrid beings who face terrifying alien creatures after a mysterious spaceship crash. Fans are already calling it one of the best shows of the year.
A Dark Future on Earth
The series starts with the crash of USCSS Maginot, a spacecraft carrying life forms from “the darkest corners of the universe.” The crash shakes Prodigy City, one of five corporate-controlled regions on Earth.

In this future, humans live alongside cyborgs and synthetics. Among them is Wendy, the first-ever hybrid prototype. She becomes a central figure in the fight for survival after the crash unleashes chaos.
Story and Setting
Alien: Earth X has eight episodes in total. The first two dropped on August 12 on Disney+, Hulu, and Jio Hotstar in India. New episodes will be released weekly. The plot mixes corporate rivalry, science experiments, and alien horror.
Earth is ruled by five corporations—Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold—each with its interests. But when the crash brings dangerous alien life forms, corporate greed quickly clashes with survival needs.
Fan Reactions Flood In
The response so far has been strong. Many fans loved seeing the iconic Xenomorph in the very first episode. Others were surprised by the twist of an alien emerging from a cat.

On social media, one user called the show “one of the largest surprises of the year,” praising its production quality. Another praised Sydney Chandler’s performance as Wendy and Timothy Olyphant’s role as Kirsh, giving the first episodes a 10/10 rating.
New Kind of Alien Story
This series is not just about monsters. It’s about what happens when humans push the limits of science and technology. By placing the horror on Earth, it feels closer and more real. Corporate politics raises the stakes. This makes human decisions just as important to survival as alien dangers.
Alien, Earth X blends nostalgia with a fresh story, if the first episodes are anything to go by, it could become the most gripping Alien project in years.
