Emma Stone has addressed the rumors surrounding her alleged remark towards Jimmy Kimmel, following his critique of her film ‘Poor Things’ during the 2024 Oscars.

“No! I didn’t call him a p–k,” stated the ‘La La Land’ actress during an interview with the Hollywood Reporter published on Wednesday.

“What did I say? I didn’t call him a p–k. I wasn’t upset with him at all. I’ll have to look that up.”

Stone’s alleged comment was reportedly prompted by Kimmel’s joke about her nominated film during his hosting of the Academy Awards in March.

After clips from the actress’ risqué R-rated movie were displayed on the big screen, the 56-year-old comedian quipped, “Those were all the parts of ‘Poor Things’ that we’re allowed to show on TV.”

During the broadcast, the 35-year-old ‘Easy A’ star was shown, leading lip-reading fans to quickly assume she whispered the crude word to her husband, Dave McCary.

“Emma Stone says ‘He’s a p–k’? ,” one fan wrote on X.                                                    “I noticed too ! She looks annoyed anyway!” another chimed in.

However, some assumed Stone was merely agreeing with the TV personality, stating “He’s right.”

“People just creating their own narrative. You can’t tell for sure what she said,” someone else wrote.

Apart from the controversy, the awards show was a memorable evening for the ‘Help’ actress, as she clinched the Best Actress award for her portrayal of Bella Baxter in the 2023 film ‘Poor Things.

Stone appeared astonished as she rushed to the stage to accept the Oscar, even accidentally breaking the zipper on her Louis Vuitton dress.
“My dress is broken,” she remarked during her acceptance speech. “I think it happened during [Ryan Gosling’s] ‘I’m Just Ken’ [performance].”
