Elon Musk disclosed his efforts to influence US business leaders against supporting Joe Biden’s potential reelection bid to Donald Trump. Musk reportedly engaged with billionaire investor Nelson Peltz and explored funding a “data-driven project to prevent voter fraud,” according to the report.

Brian Hughes, spokesperson for the Trump campaign, stated that Donald Trump alone would determine an individual’s role in his presidency.

Earlier this year, Musk and Trump convened in Florida, during which Musk expressed his intention not to financially support either Trump or Biden. Instead, he aimed to leverage his influence to rally support against Biden.

Musk’s recent remarks align with the Republican party’s narrative, including unsubstantiated claims that Biden deliberately permitted migrants to cross the US-Mexico border. Additionally, Musk endorsed anti-Semitic comments on his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter).

Although Musk publicly criticized Biden’s policies on immigration, electric vehicles, and tariffs, he has yet to formally endorse any candidate for the November election. Trump indicated uncertainty about Musk’s support, but following Musk’s acquisition of X, he reinstated Trump’s banned account, which was removed after the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack.
