NDA Kingmaker Nitish Kumar: Tejashwi Yadav’s Remarks

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav called on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to leverage his position as a “kingmaker” within the NDA to advocate for special status for Bihar. The appeal comes as both leaders, along with other political figures, convened in Delhi following the Lok Sabha Election results, which left no single party with a clear majority.

In an interview with news agency ANI, Yadav emphasized the importance of Bihar’s interests in the government formation process. He urged Kumar to ensure that Bihar receives special status and advocated for a caste-based census across the country. Yadav noted that with the BJP-led NDA falling short of a clear majority, Kumar’s role as a “kingmaker” presents a unique opportunity to address Bihar’s concerns.

The viral photos of Yadav and Kumar traveling together sparked speculation about a potential reconciliation between the former allies. Kumar, known for his political maneuvers, has previously explored alliances outside the NDA, including efforts to form a united opposition bloc.

While Yadav clarified that the encounter on the flight was a courteous exchange, the images fueled discussions about the evolving political landscape. As per the Election Commission of India’s results, the NDA secured a comfortable majority, but discussions with allies like TDP’s Chandrababu Naidu and JDU’s Nitish Kumar remain crucial.

While Naidu has pledged support to the NDA, Kumar’s close aide and JDU leader KC Tyagi affirmed the party’s commitment to the BJP alliance. As the post-election negotiations unfold, all eyes are on Kumar’s potential role in shaping Bihar’s future within the larger political framework.
