Following the altercation, the traffic officer lodged a complaint against the elderly man. The police apprehended the suspect and subsequently charged him under relevant sections at the Chandousi police station.
As per a report by Live Hindustan, traffic officer Devendra was conducting vehicle inspections near the Lal Petrol Pump with his colleague Kunal when they stopped a motorcycle with two riders, both of whom were not wearing helmets. Devendra issued a fine to the rider, Rahish Ahmed, from Mohalla Kagzi, for violating the Motor Vehicle Act by riding without a helmet and lacking a driving license. This provoked both Rahish Ahmed and the pillion rider, who verbally abused the officer and made death threats.
Despite Kunal’s efforts to de-escalate the situation, the two continued to insult the officer. Devendra later filed a complaint at the local police station against Rahish Ahmed and an unidentified individual. Rahish Ahmed has since been arrested.
