ECI EVM Observer, Azharuddin Quazi, IAS, today, reviewed the first level checking of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPATs) units being done at ware house of District Election Office at District Administrative Complex, SAS Nagar, Mohali.
He was accompanied by ADC (G) SAS Nagar, Viraj Shyamkarn Tidke and SDM Mohali Ms Chandrajyoti Singh, Suprvisor Kiran Sharma, Nodal Officer, Ashish Kathuria and Election Tehsildar Sanjay Kumar.
The ECI EVM Observer while interacting with the Bharat Electronics Limited Engineers directed them to ensure each and every EVM and VVPAT error free. He said as the ECI is committed to conduct fair polling so it is must to check the working of all the Control Units, Ballot Units and Voter Verifiable paper Audit Trail Units in time. He said that in case any unit shows error then it would be sent to BEL for rectification. He also insisted upon to complete all the work under CCTV surveillance starting from transporting the Machines from the upper story of the Warehouse to the ground floor and then back to the storage room.
