The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) released a press release announcing that External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will make an official visit to the United Kingdom from November 11–15.
Jaishankar will meet with James Cleverly, his counterpart from the UK, while he is there. Several other dignitaries will also be met by him.
“The bilateral partnership between India and the UK is expanding,” the MEA said in a press release, adding that the two nations established a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2021.
“India and the UK share a warm and thriving relationship,” the MEA stated in its release. In 2021, the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the India-UK Roadmap 2030 were introduced.
“The Roadmap represents a dedication to a cooperative effort that benefits both nations. The visit by EAM will strengthen the amicable relations between the two nations,” it continued.
The UK and India are negotiating a free trade agreement, which is significant. India and the UK began negotiating a free trade agreement (FTA) in 2022, and this year’s 12th round of talks took place from August 8 to August 31.
