For a long time, the Vidhyadhar Nagar area has been facing issues related to drinking water. However, now, under the Bisalpur-Prithviraj Nagar Drinking Water Scheme, the construction of water tanks has begun. On Sunday, Deputy Chief Minister and Vidhyadhar Nagar MLA Diya Kumari laid the foundation stone for water tanks in Ward No. 6’s Bridge Colony and Ward No. 12’s Nirmal Vihar Colony. The construction of these water tanks is being done under the Bisalpur-Prithviraj Nagar Drinking Water Scheme.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari said that the government had promised to provide essential facilities like electricity, roads, and water to the public, and now, work on that commitment has started with the formation of the government. She directed the officials of the Water Department to complete this project promptly and maintain the quality of work.
Diya Kumari emphasized that the public should not face difficulties in the water supply for drinking water due to technical faults. She highlighted the need to ensure the quality of water supply for the common people.
The capacity of the water reservoir in Bridge Colony is 22.50 lakh litres, benefiting approximately 42,000 people in the coming times. For this project, the Water Department is laying about 61 kilometres of new pipeline. The estimated completion date for this work is August 2025.
