Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister, Diya Kumari, affirmed the government’s dedication to fostering tourism development in the state during proceedings in the Assembly on Wednesday. Responding to questions during the Question Hour, she pledged to formulate and implement a comprehensive plan for the development of tourist, religious, and other significant sites throughout the entire Alwar district.
Diya Kumari acknowledged that the panoramas of Bhartrihari Dham and Hasan Khan Mewati in Alwar were established during a previous government’s tenure. However, due to neglect, their condition has deteriorated. She assured that the state government would address this by developing essential facilities to attract tourists to these panoramas.
In a written response to MLA Zuber Khan’s original question, the Tourism Minister presented details of major tourist destinations in Alwar. The list included Sariska Tiger Reserve, Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, Musi Maharani Ki Chhatri, Rani Ka Kuan, Barahi Mata Temple, and ongoing restoration work on Amarganga drain in Bhartrihari Dham. Additionally, tourism development initiatives at Narayani Mata Dham and Machadi Fort were outlined. Approval for conservation work and construction of the panorama of King Hemu has also been granted.
Addressing supplementary questions during the Question Hour, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari mentioned that if the bid rates received are deemed suitable by the Empowered Board, the work order for constructing a Railway Overbridge (ROB) near 21 Samrat Hotel in Sujangarh could be issued within about a month.
She highlighted that the approval for Rs. 65 crore (with the State Government’s share being Rs. 45 crore and the Railway’s share being Rs. 20 crore) for the ROB was issued on February 12, 2021. The tender process began, and financial proposals were opened on December 12, 2023, currently awaiting approval.
