Eight people have now died as a result of the explosion at the illegal firework factory in Duttapukur, according to authorities, who announced this on Monday.

The incident happened on Sunday in the North 24 Parganas district of Duttarpukur.
According to Prashant Ghosh, a representative from the Barasat Fire Station, eight bodies have been removed from the scene. Meanwhile, West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose visited the Duttapukur explosion site in the North 24 Parganas area.
Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, a leader in the Congress, claimed on Sunday that the episode showed the state administration’s shortcomings.

The quantity of explosive materials discovered at the bomb site is evidence that the Bengali government has let traders operate such unauthorized businesses wherever they like, even at the expense of human lives. Explosives traders are granted complete flexibility to manage these facilities. Such incidents have arisen as a result of this, the Congress leader claimed.

Suvendu Adhikari, the leader of the opposition, claimed that West Bengal as a whole was poised to explode.
“This is not a one-off occurrence. The state as a whole is a loaded gun. The chief minister had pledged to shut down these illegal cracker companies, but she is currently occupied with hosting the Imams and defending the thieves in her administration. She hosts gatherings with Muslim clerics, he claimed.
