Authorities arrested a truck driver and a conductor on the KMP highway for allegedly transporting liquor from Punjab to Jharkhand illegally. The duo, identified as Vibhash Kumar Chaudhary, alias Bibhash, and Manish Chaudhary, both natives of Bihar, were apprehended following a tip-off received by the Manesar crime branch.

An FIR was lodged against them at the Bilaspur police station on Sunday, citing sections 420, 467, and 468 of the IPC, along with relevant sections of the Excise Act.
Inspector Lalit Kumar, in charge of the Manesar crime branch, disclosed that they received information regarding a truck carrying illicit liquor from Ludhiana destined for Jharkhand via the KMP highway.

Acting on the tip-off, they intercepted the truck in the Pachgaon area, which had approached from the Kundli border.

Despite the driver’s claim that they were transporting mustard cakes, a search revealed liquor bottles hidden in the truck. The police confiscated 535 crates of Imperial Blue liquor, marked with ‘only for sale in Punjab’ labels.
