Three individuals who were arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Dublin have been released without charge, the Irish police, Gardaí, have announced.
Josh Itseli, a 20-year-old, was fatally shot on Knocknarea Road in Drimnagh around 00:15 local time on Monday.
On Tuesday, law enforcement officers seized a firearm and an electric motorcycle as part of their investigation into the incident.
Additionally, what Gardaí referred to as a “potential explosive device,” believed to be a suspected pipe bomb, was found in the vicinity of Knocknarea Court and safely removed by the Irish Army’s explosive ordnance disposal team.
Irish broadcaster RTÉ reported that detectives believe the shooting is linked to serious and organized crime.
A post-mortem examination has been conducted on the deceased male, but Gardaí stated that the results will not be disclosed for “operational purposes.”
An incident room has been set up at Sundrive Road Garda station, led by a senior investigating officer.
Authorities have appealed for any witnesses to come forward and assist with the investigation.
