Panchkula police recover drugs worth Rs. 1.25 lakh from two locations of the district. According to information, the police received tip offs for two offenders, who were identified as, Shivam alias Vishal and Anil Kumar alias Pintu,were on their way to supply heroin to their client but were timely caught. FIRs under various sections were registered at the crime branch of Chandimandir and Kalka station respectively.
The police said that, on October 22, they received a tip off that the first accused, Shivam alias Vishal, a resident of Ferozepur and currently residing in Zirakpur, Punjab, would arrive on his white Activa to allegedly deliver heroin near Morni Tea Point, here. Acting on the information, a team reached the location. Soon, the police spotted an individual who matched the description provided by the informant. After verifying the accused’s identity and completing due formalities, the police began search on Shivam and his vehicle and found heroin worth Rs. 72k from his clothing.
Shivam was presented in court the next day and has been remanded to three days of police custody for further investigation.
On the same day, the Kalka police said that they received a tip off that, the second accused, Anil Kumar alias Pintu, a resident of Amabla and currently a tenant in Kalka, was allegedly going to supply heroin near Radhaswami Satsang Bhawan. Acting swiftly, a raiding team was prepared and soon they reached the location. A few moments later, the suspect was spotted walking from the direction of Tagra Hakimpur. He was identified by the description provided by the information and was surrounded and detained by the police.
After completing due formalities, the team began a search on him and found a transparent waxy pouch containing heroin worth Rs. 50k (9.96 grams) from Anil Kumar’s left pocket.
Anil Kumar was presented in court the next day and has been remanded to two days of police custody for investigation.
