In a significant development on 27.09.2023, a case FIR No. 06 dated 27.09.2023 u/s 8 & 12 Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 Police Station Vigilance Chandigarh has been registered against Sunil Chaudhary, Drug Control Officer, Chandigarh & Ashok Narula. The complainant has alleged that he is running an orthopedic surgical shop at Shop No. 26, Ground Floor, Bansal Complex, Near Gram Sampark Dhanas, Chd. About one month ago Mr. Sunil Chaudhary, a Drug Control officer, and Ashok Narula visited his shop and they checked his shop.
During checking Sunil Chaudhary Drug Control Officer told him that there were many shortcomings in his shop and they would seal the shop. On this, he said that he would fix the minor deficiencies as soon as possible. Then Ashok Narula told him that you wanted to seal his shop and at the same time Sunil Chaudhary took his sign on a paper and Ashok Narula told him that his work would be done for Rs. 100000/- and your shop would not be sealed.
On this, he said that he is unable to give that much money. Then Ashok Narula told me that your work would be done for Rs. 80000/- and to come to my office Sector-20, Chandigarh with money. But he could not manage the money. After a few days, he went to GH Sector-16, Chandigarh to meet Sunil Chaudhary where Ashok Narula was also sitting. He told Sunil Chaudhary that he was not in a position to pay the huge amount on this Sunil Chaudhary said that it would not be less than the amount told earlier.
Mr. Sunil Chaudhary Drug Control Officer and Ashok Narula are in collusion with each other and they demanded bribe money Rs. 80000/- from him but the complainant did not want to give this bribe money to the alleged person and approached PS-Vigilance, Chandigarh. The Vigilance Cell laid down the trap and the accused Ashok Narula was arrested while he accepted the bribe amount of Rs. 25000/-. Further accused Ashok Narula has been produced before the Hon’ble court and obtained three days of police remand. We are in search of Sunil Chaudhary. Further investigation of the case is under progress.
