The entry and exit gates at the Yamuna Bank Metro station were opened on Sunday after the waterlogging condition in the vicinity eased, according to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.
‘Entry and egress at Yamuna Bank Metro Station are now open,’ DMRC tweeted.
Yamuna Bank Metro Station’s entry and exit were blocked on July 13 as the approach road leading to the station became inaccessible due to rising water levels in the Yamuna.
According to the DMRC, the interchange facility was operational and services on the Blue Line were operating normally.
Meanwhile, the water level of the Yamuna River decreased to 205.95 metres at 10 a.m. on Sunday, according to statistics released by the Central Water Commission on their homepage. It was 206.02 metres at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
Furthermore, experts predict that the Yamuna’s water level will drop below the danger level within the following few hours. At 5 p.m. on July 10, the Yamuna River in Delhi breached the danger mark of 205.33 metres.
Furthermore, the water level on the route from Majnu Ka Tila to Kashmere Gate has begun to recede. This is a big relief for villagers in the area, who have been stranded for several days due to heavy floods caused by record rainfall and the release of water into the Yamuna.
