On the occasion of year end, ISKCON Dwarka in Delhi had geared up for a grand celebration, extending heartfelt offerings to devotees who embarked on the sacred journey of Govardhan Parikrama and marked the arrival of the new year with an elaborate feast and rituals. This spiritual enclave had poised itself to ensure a soul-nurturing experience for pilgrims and believers, infusing the occasion with divine blessings and culinary delights.
Recognizing the spiritual significance of bidding adieu to the passing year while ushering in the new one, ISKCON Dwarka had orchestrated a remarkable series of events and offerings. For those who undertook the revered Govardhan Parikrama on December 31st and January 1st, the temple had bestowed a special feast, a token of devotion and support for the pilgrims’ arduous journey.
The diligent team at ISKCON Dwarka had meticulously arranged for a continuous 24-hour distribution of Prasadam along the Parikrama route, ensuring pilgrims received hot, nourishing meals on both days. This distinctive feast, distinct from regular Prasadam, had boasted an array of delectable dishes such as Kadhi-Rice, Chana Rice, Kachori, Puri-Sabzi, Samosa, and Jalebi, crafted to invigorate and sustain the travelers on their sacred trek.
Every year, this thoughtful gesture from ISKCON Dwarka had become a cherished gift for those who braved the hardships and partook in these spiritual pilgrimages. Meanwhile, the onset of the new year had been celebrated with unparalleled grandeur at ISKCON Dwarka. Sri Sri Rukmini Dwarkadhish had been honored with a divine offering of 56 bhogs on January 1st, accompanied by a delightful array of 56 cakes, ranging from Tutti-Frutti to Vanilla and more, adding a sweet essence to the festivities.
These offerings, embodiments of devotion and reverence, had encompassed a colorful spectrum of sweet and savory delicacies. From traditional dishes like Aloo Puri, stuffed parathas, and assorted snacks to an assortment of delectable sweets such as carrot halwa, rasgulla, rasmalai, and an array of flavorful barfis and laddus, the temple had promised a sensory feast for both the divine and the devotees.
The temple’s courtyard had emanated a tantalizing aroma, encapsulating the spirit of joy, devotion, and celebration as devotees had gathered to partake in this divine communion, marking a joyous start to the promising year ahead.
