Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, serving as the Chairman of Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board, presided over a meeting on Friday to review the arrangements for the forthcoming Maha Shivratri Mela at the Shrine.

The meeting saw the presence of Chief Executive Officer of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Anshul Garg, Deputy Commissioner Reasi (VC SSKSB) Vishesh Paul Mahajan, Director of Tourism Vivekanand Rai, SSP Reasi Mohita Sharma, officers from SSKSB, PDD, PWD, and members of Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board including Professor Chander Mouli Raina and Dr. Shiv Prasad Raina.

Commencing the session, the Divisional Commissioner sought details regarding the development of Shri Shiv Khori Shrine and proposed works aimed at enhancing its infrastructure.

The meeting provided insights into the comparative figures of devotee footfall in previous years, ongoing developmental activities at the Shrine, and projects currently under execution through a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation. Furthermore, updates were shared on new initiatives by SSKSB aimed at augmenting facilities for pilgrims and proposed activities for the forthcoming MahaShivratri Mela.

Reviewing the arrangements for the MahaShivratri Mela, the Div Com directed the Deputy Commissioner Reasi and SSP Reasi to ensure the provision of top-notch facilities, ensuring a memorable spiritual experience for devotees visiting the Shrine.
Additionally, the CEO of SMVDU was tasked with extending support and assistance to SSKSB by facilitating wide publicity of the Maha Shivratri Mela through flex banners and video messages at Katra.

SSP Reasi received instructions to commence comprehensive planning for security arrangements and queue management during the Mela, ensuring the safety and orderly conduct of activities on the auspicious occasion of MahaShivratri.

Emphasis was laid on the involvement of all stakeholders to ensure optimal arrangements for devotees and the smooth conduct of the MahaShivratri Mela at Shri Shiv Khori Shrine in Ransoo, Reasi.
