District Legal Services Authority gears up for National Lok Adalat on March 9

Following the directives of the Executive Chairman of Haryana State Legal Services Authority and under the supervision of the District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of District Legal Services Authority, Ved Prakash Sirohi, a National Lok Adalat is scheduled to take place at the District and Sessions Court premises on March 9, 2024.

Bench formations for the National Lok Adalat will be established, including at the District Court and Sub-Divisional level court in Kalka. District Legal Services Authority Secretary and CJM Rajesh Kumar Yadav provided details about the cases that will be addressed during the National Lok Adalat. The Rashtriya Lok Adalat will handle matters such as family disputes, MACT cases, 138 AI Act cases, traffic rule violations, check-related cases, criminal cases, and civil cases. A help desk will be set up in front of the Litigation Hall in the District Court premises to assist with the proceedings.

The Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority urged the general public to present their cases in the Lok Adalat, emphasizing that a significant number of pending cases can be efficiently resolved, leading to time and cost savings. He highlighted the positive impact of settling cases through mutual agreement in promoting a sense of brotherhood. No appeals are made for cases resolved in the Lok Adalat.

CJM mentioned that, under the guidance of the District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of District Legal Services Authority, Panchkula, a Jail Lok Adalat is conducted twice a month on the first and third Wednesday.

Additionally, cases at the pre-litigation stage concerning electricity, water, etc., can be addressed in the Permanent Lok Adalat situated at the District ADR Centre, Panchkula. The Permanent Lok Adalat accepts case filings on any working day, and individuals seeking more information can contact the helpline number 0172-2585566.
