The directors of a Nagpur-based construction company are facing allegations of cheating Economic Explosives Limited (EEL) out of a substantial sum of Rs 42.98 crore in a land deal, as reported by the police.
Upon receiving a complaint filed by Shyamsunder Mundada, deputy manager at EEL, the police took action on Thursday, registering a case against Shiv and Ritu Agrawal, the directors of Haveliwala Constructions and Developers Private Limited. The charges filed include sections 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the Indian Penal Code, as confirmed by an official statement.
The Economic Offences Wing (EoW) of the Nagpur Police has initiated a thorough investigation into this matter, aiming to uncover the truth behind the alleged fraudulent land transaction.
According to information released by the police, EEL had entered into an agreement with Haveliwala Constructions and Developers Private Limited as part of its expansion plan to establish a research and development unit. This agreement, officially signed on July 1, 2022, involved the purchase of four parcels of land situated at Mouza Waddhamna and Mouza Suradurdi.
Despite receiving a substantial sum amounting to Rs 42.98 crore from EEL, the accused individuals allegedly failed to execute the sale deed in accordance with the terms of the agreement.
The police have now launched an investigation into this alleged land fraud, with Deputy Commissioner of Police (EoW) Archit Chandak overseeing the process. The authorities are committed to unraveling the intricacies of this case and bringing those responsible to justice.
