Former RTDC President Dharmendra Rathore has expressed grave concern over the worsening situation in the country, highlighting rising inflation and unemployment. Speaking about the current state of affairs in the Lok Sabha, Rathore emphasized that the crucial issues affecting the nation are being ignored, while the government continues to downplay significant concerns. He specifically pointed out the growing threats to the Constitution, with Rahul Gandhi repeatedly stating in and outside Parliament that the Modi government is disrespecting the Constitution, and democratic institutions are under attack. Rathore labeled this as a dangerous trend, akin to an undeclared emergency.
He strongly condemned Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s derogatory remarks about Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, describing it as a direct insult to the architect of India’s Constitution. Rathore, along with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, called for Shah’s apology, which was instead defended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rathore stressed that India is governed by the Constitution, not by the Manu Smriti, and that Ambedkar’s contribution to the country cannot be undermined. He further stated that Ambedkar’s vision provided rights to the poor, Dalits, backward classes, and minorities, ensuring equal status for all citizens. He compared Ambedkar to a deity, as his work laid the foundation for a democratic and equal India.
Rathore also criticized the state government for failing to address the pressing issues in Rajasthan. He noted that while the government has been in power for a year, it has focused on changing names, such as renaming Hotel Khadim to Ajaymeru, instead of addressing fundamental problems. He also mentioned that Ashok Gehlot’s government had introduced the Chiranjeevi health insurance scheme for the poor, promising an increase in the scheme’s coverage, which remains unfulfilled.
Rathore condemned the treatment of Congress MPs, including Rahul Gandhi and Kharge, by BJP MPs, who obstructed their peaceful march to Ambedkar’s statue in Parliament. He deemed the BJP’s behavior unacceptable and vowed that the Congress will continue to fight for the dignity and respect of Baba Saheb Ambedkar and oppose any further disrespect towards him. Rathore also emphasized that this movement will spread across the country as people will not tolerate the insult of Ambedkar’s legacy.
