The Dhanbad-bound Kisan Express (13308 Firozpur-Dhanbad) unexpectedly split into two sections near Raipur village in Bijnor district, impacting approximately 1,600 passengers, including 150 candidates for the Uttar Pradesh police constable recruitment exam. The separation, which occurred due to a coupler failure in the ninth sleeper coach, took place early Saturday morning around 3:50 am between Chakrajmal and Seohara railway stations.

The train, traveling at about 50 kmph, continued to Seohara station with eight coaches, while the remaining 13 coaches were left behind. The incident caused panic among passengers, but authorities quickly responded to ensure everyone’s safety.

Superintendent of Police (East Bijnor), Dharm Singh Marchal, confirmed that no passengers were injured. To help the 150 exam aspirants worried about reaching their centers on time, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) arranged four buses to transport them to Moradabad and Bareilly.

Following the incident, the railway rescue team detached the faulty sleeper coach and reconnected the remaining coaches. After a thorough inspection, the train resumed its journey towards Dhanbad, departing Seohara at 7:35 am.
