In a critical move to reinforce the nation’s border security, IPS, Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), commenced a two-day visit to the BSF Jammu Frontier on 21 August 2024. His visit comes at a time when the security apparatus along the International Border (IB) in Jammu remains under constant scrutiny.

Upon arrival, DG Chawdhary was welcomed by Inspector General DK Boora and other senior officers of the Jammu Frontier. The visit kicked off with a comprehensive briefing by IG BSF, who provided a detailed presentation on the current security scenario, emphasizing the strategic importance of maintaining robust border security and domination in the region.

As part of his tour, DG BSF visited several Border Out Posts (BOPs) and personally assessed the operational preparedness of field formations, particularly in the sensitive Samba-Kathua and Sunderbani sectors. His interactions with BSF Sector Commanders and Battalion Commanders focused on the challenges and strategies of effective border management.

On 22 August, Chawdhary addressed a Sainik Sammelan at the Frontier Headquarters, where he lauded the unwavering commitment of the BSF troops. He urged them to continue their vigilant efforts in ensuring border domination, stressing the importance of preempting any anti-national activities.

This visit underscores the Union government’s emphasis on securing the nation’s borders and enhancing the operational readiness of its forces in critical frontier regions.
