A thick layer of fog on the Agra-Lucknow expressway led to low visibility resulting in the collision of several vehicles. So far, at least seven to eight vehicles have collided near Jharna Nala flyover. It has created a situation of panic among the commuters.

Ravi Kumar, an eye-witness of an incident commented, “The vehicle ahead of me suddenly applied the brake, due to which I hit the brake and then some three to four vehicles behind me also collided with each other.”

Similarly, in Bagpath district of Uttar Pradesh, several people were injured as a result of an accident of two vehicles. In Raibareli, a high-speed truck rammed into a house at Bareli-Sultanpur Highway due to dense fog. As per an eye-witness, there was no loss of life but major property damage. Kanpur and Unnao also reported dense fog.

India Meteorological Department suggests that the fog will continue for the net few days over the northwest and parts of adjoining central India. “Dense to very dense fog is likely to continue over Northwest & parts of adjoining Central India during next 3-4 days,” the IMD said in a post on X.

People in Agra also faced difficulty to visit the famous monument Taj Mahal as a result of dense fog, affecting visibility in the city. The fog also gripped the other parts of North India including the national capital, creating traffic disruptions for the morning commuters.
