Key member of Tillu Tajpuriya gang arrested

The Crime Branch of the Delhi Police has made a significant breakthrough by apprehending a key member and sharpshooter of the notorious ‘Tillu Tajpuriya’ gang. The accused, identified as Vishal alias Ghaisal (24), hails from Rohtak district. His arrest comes after a brief exchange of fire during an operation conducted by the Special Staff team in Rohini District. Sumit, who is also associated with the Sandeep Dheela gang, has been involved for arranging weapons for gang members and has been previously involved in cases of murder and attempted murder. The arrest was made under the operation code-named “Panther-Claw.” Following his arrrest Police recovered a pistol with three live cartridges, a stolen motorcycle, and Rs. 8000 in cash from his possession.
According to the police, Sumit was a parole jumper in a murder case from Kanjhawala and had been on the run. On June 19, the Special Staff received intelligence about Sumit’s movements in the Begumpur and surrounding areas. Sumit, an active member of the Tillu Tajpuriya and Sandeep Dheela gangs, was suspected of planning an armed assault on a property dealer in Sector 24, Rohini, for extortion purposes. The team then laid a trap on Pansali Road, Sector 32, Rohini. Sumit was spotted riding a motorcycle. When police signaled him to stop, he attempted to flee and opened fire on the officers. In self-defense, the police returned fire, injuring Sumit in the leg. He was subsequently apprehended and taken to BSA Hospital for medical treatment.
Following his arrest, a case was registered under Arms Act at Police Station Begampur, District Rohini. During interrogation, Sumit disclosed his involvement with the Tillu Tajpuriya and Sandeep Dheela gangs and admitted to arranging weapons for criminal activities on the orders of his handlers. Further he confessed of committing murder of Narender, an active member of the Gogi gang, in Alipur.
