National capital is witnessing a high rise in dengue cases on daily basis, but doctors from major government and private hospitals in the city said that they are observing “mild to moderate” symptoms in patients.According to the health experts, because of the recent rains in Delhi, the case count is expected to rise in coming days.Dr BL Sherwal, medical superintendent, Safdarjung Hospital, said that the cases have seen a spike over the last two weeks and are expected to rise further in the coming days on account of the recent rain spell in Delhi and NCR.Dr. Sherwal said, “With the recent rain and the high humidity levels, dengue cases are expected to rise further in the coming days. People must ensure that they do not allow stagnation of water in their premises. The positive sign, however, is that the cases coming in now are not very severe.”According to the records maintained by the major hospitals which includes Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital and Guri Teg Bahadur Hospital, the number of people infected from dengue is higher than the number of people contaminated with COVID-19 in past one month.
