The Delhi Medical Forum (DMF) has shown concern over increasing Covid-19 cases and impact of severe air pollution. The forum has highlighted and stressed on wearing masks that can protect people from the deadly virus.
According to Dr B.B. Wadhwa, president, Delhi Medical Association (DMA), “Citizens of Delhi are facing a double attack of rapid increase in the number of Covid cases and deteriorating environmental pollution which is assuming dangerous proportions.” He stressed the need for the use of masks to prevent coronavirus as well as well environment pollution.
“It is very unfortunate that the Delhi public is bearing the brunt of Covid-19 and increased respiratory illness due to deteriorating Air Quality Index. It is very unfortunate that Delhi continues to be the most polluted city in the country and strong, urgent and necessary measures to control Covid-19 and improve air quality are needed by the government to save the lives of Delhi citizens,” said Dr Harish Gupta, convener, DMF.
