National Capital Delhi will continue to witness cool weather due to week-long rainfall, as maximum temperature in the city was three notches below normal on Friday.

As per Safdarjung observatory, Delhi recorded 0.6 mm of rain. While Lodhi Road and Ridge observatories respectively recorded 0.6 mm and 2.7 mm of rainfall between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm.

Meanwhile, some parts of the city and NCR region witnessed rainfall in afternoon and evening. Ayanagar witnessed highest rainfall in the city, which stood at 40.8 mm during that time.

While other places like Noida, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddh Nagar witnessed light rainfall, which continued well into saturday morning.

The weather department IMD predicts heavy rainfall for the upcoming four to five days, as southwest monsoon has reached the country by July 2. Who arrived six earlier than predicted.

As a result, the national capital will continue to witness rainfall in Delhi till next week or more.

On Saturday, IMD has forecasted cloudy skies, which will be accompanied by light rain, thunderstorms and lighting.

The maximum and minimum temperature are predicted to stand at 33 and 26 degree celsius respectively.

Overall, moderate rainfall is predicted for Delhi from July 4 to July 6. Gradually, its intensity will lessen from July 7 to 9.

However, this time, the weather is expected to be pleasant as both day and night will witness moderate temperature and day-to-day activities won’t be affected. In the upcoming five to six days, cloudy skies are expected to overcome sunlight.
