India’s Covid-19 tally mounted to 1,06,89,527 with 12,689 new cases in last the 24 hours, while 1,03,59,305 people have recuperated from the infection so far pushing the national recovery rate to 96.91 percent. With 137 more fatalities, the death toll reached 1,53,724. The Covid-19 case fatality rate stands at 1.44 percent. There are 1,76,498 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country which comprise 1.65 percent of the total caseload.
Delhi registered a total of 96 new coronavirus cases taking the national capital’s tally to 6,34,325. The tally includes 1,501 active cases, 6,21,995 recovered cases. The death toll rose to 10,829 after nine more fatalities. This is the first time that Delhi, which has seen and surmounted three waves of coronavirus infections, logged less than 100 since April last year, when India was still in first phase of the nationwide lockdown to control the pandemic.
Maharashtra registered 2,171 new coronavirus cases and 32 deaths taking the state tally to 20,15,524 and the death toll to 50,894. The tally includes 43,393 active cases and 19,20,006 recovered cases.
Haryana recorded 87 fresh coronavirus cases, while no death due to the infection took place in the past 48 hours. The total number of fatalities in the state stands at 3,014. The total number of infections reported in the state has now risen to 2,67,504. The number of active Covid-19 cases in the state is 1,254, while 2,63,236 patients have recovered. The recovery rate is 98.40 percent.
Andhra Pradesh reported 111 new Covid-19 cases, taking the state tally to over 8.87 lakh. The death toll also rose to 7,152 after two fatalities were registered.
Odisha registered 138 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the state tally to 3,34,667. The tally includes 1,281 active cases, 3,31,427 recovered cases and 1,906 deaths.
Kerala reports 5,659 fresh cases taking the total number of cases in the state to 9,05,591. Active cases soared to 72,234 and recovered cases at 8,29,452. The death toll also mounted to 3,663 after 20 more fatalities.
Jammu and Kashmir reported 77 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 1,24,234. The death toll rose to 1,931 after one fatality.
