The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for the day as Delhi woke up to heavy rainfall. There is severe waterlogging in many parts of the city, with water overflowing on roads. The vehicles are seen partially submerged in the water.
There was a ‘yellow alert’ before, which is now elevated to ‘red’. Visuals showed heavy rain lashing areas of Delhi, Noida and Gurugram.
Apart from the Delhi-NCR region, heavy rainfall is expected to hit Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, North Madhya Pradesh, and West Uttar Pradesh for the next few hours.
Due tot he heavy rainfall in Delhi NCR, the Moti Bagh area of Delhi witnessed a traffic jam, leading to slow vehicular movement.

There has been severe waterlogging in Noida city, sector 62, due to heavy downpour.

A death is reported in Delhi’s Kalkaji area after a tree fell on a car and two men on a bike amid heavy rain in the capital city and NCR regions on Thursday.

Due to heavy rainfall and strong winds in the Delhi-NCR region, The Devil Road area of Khanpur is facing severe waterlogging.
