Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday announced that all government and private primary schools in the capital city will remain shut for the next two days in view of the rising air pollution levels. Schools will remain closed in Delhi on Friday and Saturday. “In light of the rising pollution levels, all govt and private primary schools in Delhi will remain closed for the next 2 days,” Kejriwal wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Shelly Oberoi directed the education department to ensure online classes for students so that learning is not affected. Smoky haze engulfed the city on Thursday, concealing the skyline and blocking out the sun. This was a result of an increase in agricultural fires and unfavorable weather conditions.
