The Supreme Court denied interim relief to Manish Sisodia on Friday, scheduling his appeal for interim and regular bail for the upcoming week of the next month, to be specific on September 4.

A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and SVN Bhatti scheduled the case for September and asked the investigation agency to explain the money trail as well as policy decisions. The court took note of the CBI affidavit, which stated that Sisodia’s wife has had the condition for the past 23 years.

Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who was representing Sisodia in his bail application, indicated that his wife’s health had lately deteriorated, resulting in her hospitalization, and that she is dealing with a variety of ailments, including mobility difficulties.

However, the court was not satisfied at this point and stated that it will look into it on the next hearing date. The court also urged Additional Solicitor General SV Raju to provide a comprehensive picture of the money trail involved in the case. The court remarked that the agency’s evidence did not provide clear images of these characteristics.

The court also gave the Enforcement Directorate more time to produce an affidavit in the case. The CBI has challenged Sisodia’s bail application and urged the Supreme Court to deny it, claiming that he is the mastermind and architect of the conspiracy involving liquor policy anomalies.

The CBI stated that Manish Sisodia’s wife’s health issue is nothing new, as her treatment has been continuous for 23 years, as he stated. The CBI said Sisodia had also applied to the Delhi High Court for interim bail on similar grounds arising from his wife’s health condition, which he later withdrew after it was pointed out before the High Court that the Petitioner had suppressed vital facts in relation to his wife’s discharge from the hospital.
