According to officials, in the first three weeks of July 2022, the Dwarka district police in Delhi made up to 36 arrests in total and clamped down on foreigners who were reportedly living in India illegally as well as those who were allegedly involved in drug trafficking.

21 foreign nationals were deported by the operation cells of the Dwarka police; 11 were booked under section 14A of the Foreigner Act and 4 were arrested for drug offences under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Due to increased surveillance, the teams from the Dwarka Police Station moved quickly to apprehend foreign nationals who were wandering or dwelling illegally within the Dwarka region of Delhi. Additionally, foreign nationals implicated in narcotics trafficking were captured by the squads. The act was directed by Deputy Commissioner of Police M. Harsh Vardhan. 

Two alleged drug dealers who are citizens of Nigeria were apprehended by a team of police officers from the Mohan Garden Police Station and two other teams from the Anti Narcotics Cell in the Dwarka District. The police’s initial search turned up about 1.05 kilogrammes of heroin of fine quality. Frank and Emmanual Job were taken into custody and lodged under the NDPS Act.

 DCP, Dwarika, M Harsh Vardhan said, “Two teams of police officials of the Anti-Narcotics Cell, Dwarka District, comprising HC Dinesh, HC Kuldeep, HC Sushil, HC Hetram, Ct Ravi, and Ct Mukesh, under the supervision of Insp. Subhash Chand, I/C Anti-Narcotics Cell Dwarka and overall supervision of Sh. Ram Avtar, ACP/Ops Dwarka, have done a commendable job by arresting 02 Nigerian Nationals who are drug peddlers with the recovery of a commercial quantity of heroin and amphetamine from their possession.”
