The just concluded India Art Festival in Mumbai witnessed artworks from various artists from Delhi. Among them were young Artist Pavani Nagpal who mesmerized the art lovers with her latest art works titled, “Break the Barrier”, focused on Body Positivity and the innate strength of a woman. A philanthropist and an emerging icon for gender equality, this Delhi-based artist creates thought-provoking, 21st century styles that would suit the walls of abstract art lovers and owns ‘PavsArts’. “Every painting I create is a token of gratitude towards the universe for enabling me to do something for the society.

These days you see ‘Body Positivity’ has taken a good stance, however it has a long way to go! Women in my country still struggle to believe that they are beautiful and capable to make their dreams come true! My art is for them. My artwork is for all those who want to fight back for themselves, who want to feel good, do good, be good! Through my art, I want to inspire and empower!” Pavani’s love for vibrant colors denotes the deep understanding of the world she has and her optimism for it. In her latest collection she has used Pop Colors to exhibit modern era women that are ready to shrug off the wild patriarchy.

You can witness an element of grace and fashion mixed with fun in her art work. As an artist, she loves to experiment with charcoal, ink, acrylic and dabbles in fluid art. Her experimental and unconventional style is evident from the circular canvases she has used for this collection of art work. “Art is not in my blood, but I am born for art”, that’s how the 27 year old artist Pavani Nagpal describes her passion for art. While eminent Artist Kamar Alam, who was part of a group show, “Beyond Borders” with thecurators. art presented his artwork titled “Blossoming”. Talking about his theme, Blossoming, Alam says, “Thoughts are interconnected and infinite. They cross and transcend each other. Each positive thought is a journey in themselves and are carriers of our existence. I visualize myself within the infinite space and universe, created by my maker.

We as beings are interconnected. I believe, one should hold onto the greatest and the purest of thoughts. These in turn initiates and influences our words and actions positively, giving out love, brotherhood, peace, and creating good Karma. The good Karma acts as your vehicle of enlightenment. This belief stands as the connection to everything around us, and spirituality, wisdom, knowledge, strength & positivity. This helps me to flow and blossom within while I also spread the seeds of love and goodness around. The woman in my life holds vibrant energy, love and wisdom. The woman figure is an important part of my works. She symbolizes the strength and belief of my relationships, and a strong individual who has multidimensional qualities. My portrayals of women connote strength, motherliness, divinity & spirituality. It is also nature’s way of renewing and blossoming itself, again and again
