Delegation of Awami league raises eyebrows
The BJP has invited a delegation of senior-level leaders of the ruling Awami League of Bangladesh for interaction. This has raised some confusion in the political circle in Dhaka. The opposition party BNP is not invited for any interaction. Just before the general election, the ruling Awami League has given a clear signal as to which way India is looking at the Bangladesh election. Already, many western powers have commented on the conduct of the election. India has recently commented that ‘India enjoys a special relationship with Bangladesh. The whole world may comment, but India is India.” The only concern for India is that elections should be held in a peaceful manner, shunning violence. Meanwhile, the BJP party has clarified that the proposed interaction with the Awami League leaders has no connection with the upcoming election. BJP Party President J P Nadda regularly meets with the leaders of the political parties of different countries under a special programme called ‘Know the BJP’. They are interacting with almost 150 countries and not only Bangladesh’s political parties, especially with whom they have party-to-party relations.
Sonia praises TMC MP’s intervention
The other day, when the Delhi service ordinance was discussed in the Loksabha, BJD MP Pinak Mishra stood up to support the ordinance promulgated by the Central government to undo the Supreme Court judgement on giving exclusive power to the elected Delhi government to control the civil servants of the state. Mishra was making an argument in favour of the legislative competence of the government to bring the bill. Immediately, TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee stood up to counter Mishra.
RS Chairman expunges praise by Kharge
Generally, Chairman of Rajyasabha Jagdeep Dhankar is frequently heard saying, “Nothing will go on record”. One day, the chairman allowed the leader of the opposition, Mallikarjun Kharge, to speak. While allowing Kharge to speak, the chairman commented that “I have a special place for Khargejee in my heart.” Kharge immediately replied, Yes, sir, you have a large heart, but the space is occupied by the ruling party.” The Chairman laughed about the comment but immediately ordered that nothing go on record.
